Fan Creates Replica Ghostbuster Car

Mega Ghostbuster movie fan, Paul Harborne, has restored a battered and old cadillac into an exact replica of ECTO-1 from the 1984 blockbuster movie.

Paul Harbone has spent a whopping £50,000 on creating the replica, managing to juggle his part time job as a security guard with the countless hours it has taken to create his Ghostbusting mobile. It took Harbone 6 months to locate one of only six 1959 Cadillac models which amazingly turned up only a few mile from his home in Leicester, UK. He then spent the next several years on the restoration and created many of the customised parts for the car himself in his garage.

Harbone said,

‘It was a complete wreck as it had been abandoned,’ he said. ‘It’s extremely rare and very hard to restore.

‘It’s certainly been a challenge – 50-year-old Cadillacs are hard work!’

The original vehicle, driven by eccentric Bill Murray and his fellow ghost hunters, is considered by fans to be a cross-over between an ambulance and funeral hearse.
