Apple iPhone 4S Owners Use Double The Amount of Data

A recent study has shown that Apple iPhone 4S users are using double the amount of data than the phones predecessors. The huge increase in mobile data on the iPhone 4S is been blamed largely on Apples new virtual assistant, Siri.

The iPhone 4S does not actually process Siri commands on the device itself. Siri works by taking voice commands from the user and sending them to the Apple servers where the command is then processed and an appropriate response is then sent back to the phone. It is because of this that iPhone 4S users are probably using more data than any other smart phone on the market and for this reason that Siri needs a connection to the internet via 3G or Wi-Fi in order to work.

Apple’s iPhone 4S is not the only smartphone on the market that has shown to be using a huge amount of data. The Google Nexus One, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the HTC desire are all reported to use huge amounts of data. This shows that Siri is not totally to blame for the increased amount of data usage.

As technology is advancing we are using more and more data each and every day and a lot of this data is been consumed through our mobile cell phones. Each day we use our phones to access social media, search the web and access emails. All of which requires an increase in data usage. With the birth of faster networks and 4G the amount of data we consume and the speed at which we consume it will only increase again.

As time goes on it may be advisable that you pay particular attention to the amount of data you are allowed to receive the next time you upgrade your mobile cell phone contract. Maybe if we are lucky networks may begin to offer a special Siri data plan but we would advise not holding your breath for that to happen.
