It will probably come as no surprise to find that smartphone users are using their phones while sitting on the toilet. What may come as a surprise is that is that only 40% of smartphone owners admit to using their phone while having a poo.
Personally I feel that using a smartphone while on the toilet is definitely a sign of addiction. We all know that toilets are a breeding ground for germs and viruses that can cause us some rather nasty ailments so it is always a bad move to add another touch service in to the equation.
If you need any further prove of just how addicted people are to their smartphones statistics say that 93% of people use their smartphone at home, 81% of those use it to surf the internet and 77% of them use it to search the internet.
72% of owners use their smartphone while they are consuming other media and 1 in 3 use it while watching television.
45% of smartphone owners use their phone to organise manage and plan activities such as dinner arrangements and travel plans. The same 45% of owners are also said to use their phone to organise their finances which adds a big question mark over the security measures a smartphone has in place for users that access their bank accounts.
1 in 5 people have said they would happily give up their televisions if it was a choice between that or losing their smartphone.
Google say that research they have carried out states over 39% of smartphone owners use their phone while sat on the toilet. That sounds like one whole load of c*&p if you ask us.
